Helicon Filter (free version) offers the full set of easy to use post processing tools to the digital photographer. Intuitive interface, context help and full screen preview make it easy to learn.

The Helicon Filter covers 99% of the needs of the photo enthusiast whose usual workflow includes the following steps:

noise reduction (otherwise noise will be amplified by sharpening and brightness changes)

exposure correction (brightness, contrast, shadows, etc.)

white balance and saturation adjustment

distortion correction

cropping, rotating, resizing

sharpening and deblurring

adding frames and text.
The Helicon Filter is one of the best tools in each of the above categories and received many awards. It also includes the Red Eye tool.

Please be aware that this is a slightly cut down version of a very powerful shareware program, expert mode and batch processing are not available, and only JPG and BMP output appear to be supported (but you can always convert to other image types after editing). Otherwise, this is a great piece of freeware!
