Besides the 1611, this is still believed to be one of the most accurate translations of the Hebrew and Greek texts that exist today. Purists who want the least amount of human error involved in their versions prior to the 1800s choose this one. Comes with a newer version of the FileSearcher which is an ideal application for use with such a large text as the bible. In this package it has been renamed as BibleSearcher and has been upgraded (as has the FileSearcher). Originally, this version was purported to be the original 1611 King James translation of the bible. Evidently this is NOT the original 1611 version, but rather the 1769 translation, which by most standards is probably the closest to the 1611 while still being reader friendly (since 1611 is written in ye olde Englishe). To date, this is probably the only 1611 that is free for download. This version, the 1769, is probably the closest version to the 1611 that you will find free. r
