Portable AbiWord allows you to carry your a compact word processor with you on an iPod, USB thumbdrive, portable hard drive or any other portable media. You can plug it right into any Windows computer and use it just like you would on your own. It is a repackaged version of the lightweight AbiWord word processor designed with portability in mind, so it has all the same great features of AbiWord, but there's nothing to install.
For further customization, the following options are available: Portable AbiWord Launcher 1.1.2 (Included) - It can be run from anywhere on the USB drive (including the root). Read the readme.txt for the full details on running it. This launcher is released under the GPL and all code is included.Batch File Launcher (Included) - If you'd like just use a batch file, you can use PortableAbiWord.bat. You can place it in the program directory or root. If you rename the PortableAbiWord directory, you will need to alter the bat file.AbiWord Drive Icon (Included) - If you're only using the drive for AbiWord and would like the AbiWord icon to show up in Explorer, save this autorun.inf file to the root directory of the USB drive.
